The Center for Educational Studies and Research, in cooperation with the National Federation of Parents’ and Students’ Associations and the Municipality of Sebkha, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Partnership between the School and the Family: Towards an Effective Model of Educational Cooperation”. This took place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, starting at 4:30 PM, in the lecture hall of the Sebkha Municipality in Nouakchott.
The seminar aimed to strengthen the partnership between schools and families, particularly in the educational field.
It also sought to analyze the challenges facing the continuity of learning, review successful national and international experiences in this area, and propose practical strategies to enhance the resilience of the education system and its ability to respond effectively. Furthermore, by organizing the seminar in the Sebkha Municipality, in cooperation with the municipality and the National Federation of Parents’ and Students’ Associations in Mauritania, it aimed to strengthen the partnership between educational stakeholders and civil society, and to establish a participatory approach that places the learner’s interest at the heart of efforts to achieve sustainable and inclusive education for all.
The seminar saw broad participation from educational experts, civil society actors, and representatives of local bodies. The symposium concluded with a set of practical recommendations aimed at building effective and sustainable mechanisms for community mobilization, in line with efforts to reform the national education system and contribute to achieving the goals of equity and quality in education.
As a reminder, this symposium is part of the program of the Center for Educational Studies and Research, specifically its monthly program “Discussions on Education in Mauritania,” which aims to strengthen the role of civil society as a key partner in developing the education system and supporting national efforts to improve public schools in Mauritania.
