An intellectual symposium discusses the impact of success and failure in exams in Mauritania.

The Center for Educational Studies and Research, in partnership with the National Federation of Parents’ and Students’ Associations, organized an intellectual symposium entitled “The Impact of Examinations: Between the Euphoria of Success and the Shock of Failure.” The symposium was held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the ksar Cultural center.

The symposium was part of the monthly program “Debates on Education in Mauritania.” It attracted extensive participation from educators, academics, and education experts. Participants discussed ways to develop the educational system and address the challenges associated with exams.

1. The psychological and social repercussions of exam results and their impact on students and families.

2. Evaluating the current educational assessment system and its effectiveness in measuring skills and achieving justice.

3. Mechanisms for supporting students during exam periods and ways to enhance their mental health.

– The need to review the assessment system to ensure its objectivity and comprehensiveness.

– The importance of providing psychological support to students before and during exams.

– Promoting national dialogue on education policies to address contemporary challenges.
